Scrap my car, Bury
A licensed yard just up the road in Rochdale, under ten miles from Bury town centre. Free collection across BL8, BL9, Radcliffe and Whitefield, paid the same day by bank transfer.
Allparts Rochdale buys scrap and end of life vehicles across Bury, from a licensed yard on Chichester Street in Rochdale, under ten miles from Bury town centre. Scrap vehicles are paid by weight, at a set rate per tonne, with more paid for a vehicle that still starts and drives. Collection across Bury, Radcliffe, Ramsbottom, Whitefield and Prestwich is free, payment is the same day by bank transfer, and we are an Environment Agency Authorised Treatment Facility, licence EAWML/53593, so we notify the DVLA and issue a Certificate of Destruction. We are the yard, not a broker.
We are the yard, not a middleman
Search for scrapping a car in Bury and most of what comes back is not a scrap yard at all. It is a comparison site or a lead broker. They take your registration, give you a figure, and then sell your details to whichever yard will pay for them. The price often changes when somebody actually turns up.
We own the yard. The truck that collects your car is ours, the men on it work for us, and the vehicle is dismantled on Chichester Street. That is why the price we quote is the price you get, and why we can tell you exactly what happens to the car afterwards.
It is also why the paperwork is right. Only an Authorised Treatment Facility can issue a Certificate of Destruction, and a broker is not one.

Where we collect around Bury
Free collection across the whole borough and the villages around it. If your postcode starts BL0, BL8, BL9, M25, M26 or M45 you are comfortably inside the radius.
Not in Bury? We collect free anywhere within 40 miles of Rochdale, which takes in most of Greater Manchester and reaches into Lancashire and West Yorkshire. Scrap my car, Rochdale has the full list.
Or drive it in and we will pay you more
Collection is free, but if the car still moves and you would rather bring it to us, we pay a bit more for it, because it saves us sending the truck out. From Bury it is a straight run on the A58 through Heywood into Rochdale.
The yard is at 11 Chichester Street, Rochdale, OL16 2AU, open Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm and Saturday 9am to 3pm, closed Sunday. Bring the V5C if you have it and photo ID. You are paid by bank transfer before you leave and the Certificate of Destruction follows once we have notified the DVLA. Directions and opening hours.
Scrapping a van rather than a car?
Vans weigh more than cars, and scrap is paid by weight, so they are worth more. A long wheelbase panel van is roughly half as heavy again as a family hatchback. We take everything up to a 7.5 tonner. Scrap my van, Rochdale.
Common questions
- Do you actually collect from Bury, or do you pass it to someone else?
- We collect it ourselves, on our own truck. The yard is on Chichester Street in Rochdale, under ten miles from Bury town centre, so it is a short run for us rather than a job we have to sell on. That matters more than it sounds: a lot of the firms that appear when you search are brokers who take your details and pass them to whichever yard will pay for the lead. We are the yard.
- Which parts of Bury do you cover?
- All of it, and the villages around it. BL0, BL8 and BL9 for Bury, Ramsbottom and Tottington, plus M26 for Radcliffe, M45 for Whitefield and M25 for Prestwich. If you are not sure whether you are in, ring with the postcode and we will tell you straight away.
- Is collection from Bury really free?
- Yes. Collection is free anywhere within 40 miles of the yard and Bury is well inside that. Nothing is deducted from the price for it, and the figure we quote on the phone is the figure that goes into your bank. If you would rather drive it in to Rochdale yourself we pay a little more, because it saves us the truck run.
- How much will I get for it?
- Scrap is paid by weight at a set rate per tonne, so a heavier car is worth more regardless of age, mileage or condition. We pay more again for anything that still starts and drives, because a working engine and gearbox is worth more to us than the metal, and more for a full set of alloys. The calculator at the top of this page gives you a figure in about twenty seconds, or ring with the registration and we will price it on the call.
- What about non runners, MOT failures and write offs?
- All fine. Blown engine, failed MOT, insurance write off, no keys, flat tyres or no wheels at all. We recover it onto the truck. It does not need to be on a public road either, so a driveway, a yard or a lock up in Radcliffe is no problem with the right permission.
- Are you licensed, and do I get the paperwork?
- Yes to both. We are an Environment Agency Authorised Treatment Facility, licence EAWML/53593, with upper tier waste carrier registration CBDU155342. Only an ATF can legally depollute a vehicle and issue the Certificate of Destruction, which is the document that ends your responsibility for it. We notify the DVLA for you.
- How do I get paid?
- Same day, by bank transfer, as the vehicle goes on the truck. We do not pay cash. Paying cash for scrap metal has been illegal in England and Wales since the Scrap Metal Dealers Act 2013, so anyone in Bury offering you notes for a car is breaking the law and you do not want your vehicle going to them.
